Why the ingredient labels still matter
The page above describes the final compounded product. The warnings below come from separate ingredient labels. They can help you ask questions. They do not prove that the final product is safe or right for you.
- The tadalafil label says nitrates are contraindicated within 48 hours after the last dose.
- The vardenafil label says nitrates and nitric-oxide donors are contraindicated.
- The apomorphine label says 5HT3 antagonist drugs are contraindicated.
FDA says compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. FDA does not review their safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are sold.
A five-minute visit checklist
- Bring the current product page or pharmacy label. Bring your full medicine list too.
- Point out all three ingredients. Do not assume one label answers every question.
- Ask if any medicine you take conflicts with a warning above.
- Ask which label and directions apply to you. Save the pharmacy phone number.
Write down the answer. Add the date. Bring the note next time.
